Freeborn-Mower Cooperative Services (FMCS) understands how
important specific trees can be to homeowners and to communities. Like most
people, we've planted trees to celebrate, commemorate or honor events or people
in our lives.
However, while we love our green Minnesota, we have a mission
to deliver safe, reliable power. To provide adequate clearance around power
lines, some trees require more pruning or removal. In such cases, the property
owner is notified in person or by door card. Even though easements often give
electric utilities the right to prune or remove any tree that interferes with
the maintenance of electric lines, as a courtesy to our members our tree care
professionals ask for the property owner's consent before removing the tree.
This work will be done at no charge to you.
In July 2007, Freeborn-Mower Construction Company (FMCC)
assumed our right-of-way services by adding two new employees to provide all
power line rights-of-way vegetation management, as well as tree services for our
members.
