Your electric bill is due
on or before the due date. To avoid an
additional fee, pay your bill on or
before the 20th of the month. If payment
is after the 20th, a late fee of $5.00
plus 1% of the current month bill is
charged to your account. For your
convenience, you may choose between
various
payment options.
Unfortunately, at
times customers may be late in paying
their electric bills. When this happens,
we urge them to contact us at (507)
373-6421 or (800)
734-6421 to avoid a
disconnection for nonpayment. We
consider disconnecting electric service
for nonpayment a last resort and would
rather work out
payment arrangements
(also see
budget billing).
DISCONNECTION
If a bill is left
unpaid, we will send out a notice of
disconnection. In the event no payment
arrangements are made with our billing
department, utility service may be
disconnected. Disconnection can then be
avoided by paying the past due amount or
by making arrangements to pay the past
due amount on or before the dates listed
on the notice.
Disconnect notices are
mailed to all consumers who have been
late two consecutive months and/or three
times within the last twelve months.
To avoid service
disconnection, it is very important to
make payment arrangements on past due
bills immediately. If payment has been
mailed, please check with our office to
be sure we have received it. In the
event we must discontinue electric
service, we cannot guarantee same-day
reconnection. |
